Author: Dr Bounthanh Sinavong
Towards the end of 1945, the young Bounthanh Sinavong entered the temple as an apprentice.
He stayed there for four years and studied Pali for two years. Then, having left religious life, he attended the Auguste Pavie High School of Vientiane, during which period he got involved in work with the « Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient ».
After obtaining his baccalaureat in Vientiane, he then enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier (France) where he obtained a Doctorate of State in Medicine.
After many years in professional practice, he retired. He established himself in the region of Paris area where he currently lives.
